‘pure'
exploring abstraction and the degrees of what we can assign to the conscious and unconscious, subjective, objective, decisions, energies, movements, environments, contexts, etc. this section is as close to ‘pure’ as possible, ie. the marks were made without my eyes on them, they were the protective paper underneath as i worked on paintings, often accumulated over time. or in the case of the blue paper towels - what i wipe my hands with to remove the paint from my hands.
for me, this is important as i continue my research into what happens when I paint. what is abstraction?
